Recent course of events has revealed the Sultanate of Oman's utmost stand with Palestinians facing the brutal invasion on Gaza Strip. At all levels of social, political and even individual matters, Oman has chosen to retain the firm values and subjective rationales in making significant remarks on the Palestinian cause.

It is extremely distressing to observe the brutal actions by Israeli occupation forces on the defenceless Palestinian civilians including children, women and elderly. Infrastructure facilities are now piles of rubble, and people can find no safer place under the indiscriminate Israeli strikes.

In the political stream, Oman’s position has been stated evidently to support the Palestinian demands to live with full freedom granted by international law and human rights. Diplomats have exerted a great deal of efforts to fulfill Oman’s noble message in keeping peace the ultimate priority in calling for a ceasefire and pushing humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave. Therefore, leading a team to the UN Security Council and express strongly what the world needs to hear were all of Oman’s concerned mission on the global stage. Statements were made to the international community not to fail Palestine’s vicious misery.

Witnessing the pain with death and famine surging all over the poor Gaza has been identified as war crimes by global organisations including officials in the Palestinian areas. Israeli forces have no morals when they drop bombs on innocents, siege food and medical aid and threaten to invade carelessly the densely-populated Rafah of displaced Palestinians.

Videos and pictures shared on different platforms made it hard enough to spare a reaction in the Omani community. Just when the aggressive attacks started, Omanis have conveyed their responsible role to stand by Palestinians rejecting the injustice meted out to them. People have said expressed their anguish through rallies, and with all available means to show their solidarity with Palestinians. Some Omani doctors have even travelled to Gaza to serve the injured and offer needful help to them.

With no doubt, Oman calls for an end to the collective punishment Israel is inflicting on Palestine, urging Israel to stop the genocidal pounds on Gaza. The world has now seen that there is no solution but peace to the Palestinian cause. It is a turning point to ask for a Palestinian state with full rights and dignity saved for the land and for the man.
