Muscat: As many as 35 bikers from France are on an adventurous ride across the Arabian Peninsula and are currently in the Sultanate of Oman exploring the unexplored as well as the known secrets of the touristic places for a few days, thanks to the Raid Orion Revival which organised the expedition in collaboration with TLB Destinations and Assaraya Travel & Tourism LLC OMAN along with ORIAMA and well supported by the combined expertise of Pascal Rostagny, Reza Hanai, and Kathleen Bimson and Oman’s Ministry of Tourism.

They boast of over 25 years of experience in orchestrating exceptional events and motorsport spectacles including Formula 1, 24 Hours of Le Mans, motorbike Grand Prix, off-road rallies, and more, the Raid Orion Revival stands out from the rest in its immaculate way of conducting.

The maiden visit of the Raid Orion Revival to the Sultanate marks a significant milestone as the first motorcycle tour of its kind across the Arabian Peninsula, spanning an impressive 5,000 kilometers through four captivating countries, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, besides the Sultanate of Oman,.

The Raid Orion Revival is the perfect group of crazy bikers who are madly in love with biking and the roads. Their love for the roaring engines don’t limit them to the asphalt and the paved roads, they ride on roads without classification or challenge, where the participants only focus on the pleasure of driving in fantastic landscapes and discovering the countries crossed.

Here, everyone rides at their own pace, aptly guided by the electronic road book provided, in groups or alone, according to their own wishes but always well supervised by the organisation team and followed by the tracking system which ensures perfect safety.

“We are greatly honoured to announce the presence of such a pioneering endeavor in the Middle East, especially in the Sultanate of Oman,” said Dani Nader, Managing Director of TLB Destinations.

“The Raid Orion is open to everyone, solo or duo, regardless of experience and level of driving. You just need to be in good physical shape to be able to ride every day, with a temperature that can be hot on some stages and a motorcycle in perfect condition.

As part of the culmination of such an adventurous journey, we have curated exquisite dining experience in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism which will also be attended by 35 esteemed European participants,” adds Nader.

The team travelled between 350 and 500 km per day for three weeks - with a day off every 6 days - remains a personal challenge and a real sporting adventure. Each evening, the selected hotels offered optimum comfort to participants for quality rest. Luggage transport by the organization, technical assistance, transport of motorcycles by container, everything is designed so that each raider can fully enjoy this adventure without constraint.

Their itinerary in the Sultanate of Oman:

The team will explore the mountains of the Sultanate of Oman with a stop in Ibri at the foot of the Western Hajar, the last town before the desert immensity nicknamed ‘The Great Empty’ which will be followed with the crossing of Jebel Shams and its extraordinary Grand Canyon, the old town of Al Hamra and Nizwa. To end on a high note, the stage will end in a camp at the foot of the immense dunes of the Wahiba desert where we can enjoy a second rest day.

Starting from Al Wasil, a long loop will allow the team to measure the immensity of the desert plateaus of central Oman before heading north along the superb coastal road that runs along the Arabian Sea, offering beautiful landscapes between cliffs, rocky promontories, white beaches and turquoise sea. The small fishing port of Al Ashkharah will be the location of the penultimate stage. The next day, the last stage, between sea and mountain, the team will reach Muscat, the final point of this magnificent raid on the tracks of the Incense Road. Later that day, the participants will fly to Jordan and will pick up their motorcycles at the port of Aqaba on the Red Sea.
