The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has launched an extensive inspection campaign in the Governorate of Muscat, spanning several weeks.

This endeavor is part of a systematic plan that utilizes electronic technical connectivity for field inspection teams.

The campaign adheres to strict and organized control standards.

The scope of the campaign encompasses unannounced visits to various sectors, including vehicle repair workshops, spare parts, vehicle oils and tires, air filters, aluminum sector, blacksmithing, carpentry, kitchens, electrical and electronic appliances sector, as well as the building materials sectors, restaurants, cafes, and meat shops.

The campaign aims to achieve several objectives such as ensuring compliance of commercial centers and shops with the Consumer Protection Law, its executive regulations, and issued decisions. Moreover, it seeks to eliminate negative economic phenomena and abuses, take necessary measures against violators, and monitor and eliminate detrimental practices within the markets.

Ultimately, this effort aims to reduce the number of complaints and save time and effort for all parties involved, including the inspector, the service provider, and the consumer. Additionally, the campaign aims to enhance the level of awareness among field personnel regarding the Consumer Protection Law, its executive regulations, and prohibited products that have been banned by the CPA.
