Muscat: The citizens of the Sultanate can now visit the Republic of Albania without an entry visa, according to official sources.

"The Republic of Albania has decided to exempt citizens of the Sultanate of Oman from entry visas for tourism during the period from March 6 and December 31, 2024," an official statement from the Foreign Ministry of Oman said.

It may be noted that the budget airline, SalamAir, will introduce flights to Tirana, Albania's capital from mid-June with two weekly flights, apart from services to Baku, Almaty, and Trabzon.

Captain Ahmed Al Shidhani, CEO, SalamAir, said, "Tirana is a gem among Albania's destinations, boasting a moderate climate and a wealth of historical and tourist attractions."
