MUSCAT: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning announced the launch of three service tenders within the Sultan Haitham City project — Phase One (2024 - 2030) — where construction works have begun.
The tenders are related to building main and secondary roads, bridges, sidewalks, and the construction of electricity, water, and sewage services networks, broadband and communication networks, district cooling, and the construction of 3 electricity substations.
The first tender of the fourth package includes the implementation of 31 water bridges, construction of main roads totaling 8 kilometres, secondary roads totaling 7 kilometres, bicycle tracks of 30 kilometres, pedestrian paths of 30 kilometres, traffic lights, traffic signs, road lighting, to be implemented within 24 months, targeting companies of the premium category.
The second tender of the fifth package includes implementing water networks of 105 kilometres, irrigation networks of 54 kilometres, rainwater drainage networks of 62 kilometres, sewage networks of 93 kilometres, communication and broadband networks, district cooling systems and networks, electricity network with a capacity of 100 megawatts of high, medium, and low voltage, to be implemented within 18 months by companies targeted from the premium category.
A tender has also been announced within the sixth package to build 3 transformer substations (11/33 kilovolts), covering an area of 7500 square metres in neighbourhoods 6,8,9, with an execution period of 15 months for targeted companies of the premium category. — ONA
