MUSCAT: Heavy thunderstorms (30-100 mm) accompanied with strong downdraft winds and hail is today (Wednesday) over governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, AlDhahirah, Al Batinah North, Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat,Al Batinah South, Al Sharqiyah South and Al Sharqiyah North and the northern parts of Al Wusta Governorate. Chances of isolated rains occasionally thundershowers predicted over Dhofar Governorate as well. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) advises all to take precaution during thunderstorms, avoid crossing Wadis (Flashfloods) and low laying areas and avoid venturing into the sea during alert period. —ONA
