Nearly 150 labourers from different countries of the world who are financially not well to celebrate Eid were given a set of clothes, thanks to the initiative of a group of Pakistani nationals.

The project, currently in its second year, envisages a better world where no one should be without new clothes for the Eid and ensures that they celebrate the day on par with the rest of the world, according to Zahid Shakoor and Imran Toor, MD of Ravi restaurants.

"We are all working towards a better world where no one is deprived of the beauty of festivities and special occasions. We are thankful to the members of the Pakistan Samaj and Ravi restaurant for this gesture," Syed Aftab Gilani, former general secretary of Pakistan Cultural Center Oman (PCCO) and Director of Pakistan Social Club, told the Observer.

A worker at a restaurant won a free package of Umrah whereby he can fulfil his dream of visiting the holy land and perform the Umrah rituals. "This is a kind gesture to help and support those who are less privileged to fulfil their dreams and to feel a sense of belonging and we do it as part of our social responsibility initiatives," said Zahid Shakoor and Imran Toor.
