Muscat: The Seeb club is close to clinching the Oman Football League (OFL) title after the round 15 competition, The gap between Seeb and their closest competitor, Al Nahda, is 11 points after Seeb won and Al Nahda drew in the last round.


While Bahla's victory over Dhofar added the tension in the relegation battle, as the gap between the bottom-placed team and Al Wahda was reduced to just one point. Bahla now has 9 points in their balance, while Al Wahda's balance remained at 10 points after their defeat in the last match.


Al Wahda's defeat not only ignited the relegation battle but also added more heat to the golden square, as Sohar secured their place in fourth place with 25 points and temporarily escaped the chasing Al Nasr, who is in fifth place with 22 points.


Matches of Round 16


This round will witness strong and exciting matches, as Bahla will face Al Wahda at Ibri Complex in the opening match of Round 16 today. Bahla enters the match motivated after the last victory in the last round and will try to win to get out of the last place, while Al Wahda will try to win and catch up with Sur, who is the other team threatened by relegation.


Ibri will face their guest Oman Club at Ibri sports complex. Oman Club enters the match after two consecutive losses to achieve victory and maintain third place, while the home team tries to snatch the three points and climb to seventh place.

In the third match, Al Rustaq, the ninth-placed team, will play against Al Shabab, the seventh-place team. Al Rustaq enters the match with 17 points, one point behind Al Shabab. Al Rustaq will try to win and snatch seventh place from Al Shabab.


In another match, Dhofar will host league leaders Seeb at Al Saada Complex. Seeb enters the match without any loss, having played 15 matches, winning 13, and drawing two, and their players will try to win this match and take another step towards the title. While Dhofar enters the match in sixth place with 19 points, they will try to do their best to win maintain their position, and break the unbeaten streak of league leaders Seeb.


Sohar will face their hosts Sur at the Sur Sports Complex. Sohar is currently in fourth place with 25 points and is currently looking to maintain its positive streak and achieve its eighth victory in the competition, to approach third place, currently occupied by Oman Club, with only one point separating them in the standings. For its part, Sur seeks to win and achieve its fourth victory in the competition, to strengthen its position in tenth place, and to raise its score to 17 points.


In the last match, Al Nahda will face their guest Al Nasr at Al Buraimi Complex. Al Nahda, the runners-up of the league, will try to win and chase the leaders. Al Nasr enters the match to win and snatch fourth place from Sohar.
