MUSCAT: A number of wounded Palestinians affected by the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip have arrived in the Sultanate of Oman on Wednesday to receive treatment, a Foreign Ministry statement said on Wednesday. The ministry thanked the Egyptian authorities for the facilities they provided to transport the wounded Palestinians.

Dr Tayser Farahat, Ambassador of Palestine to the Sultanate of Oman, welcomed the move in a statement saying that the reception by the Sultanate of Oman of some wounded Palestinians affected by the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip for over 180 days is an appreciable step.

“This step reflects the consistent firm stances of the Sultanate of Oman under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik in supporting the Palestinian people to reclaim their legitimate rights,” he confirmed.

In his statement, he pointed out that Oman has tried to put an end to Israeli aggression. Oman’s noble role of dispatching humanitarian aid and delivering it to the Gaza Strip is a commendable initiative.

Speaking about the reception of the wounded Palestinians, the ambassador said it will save their lives, noting that such actions reflect great sympathy to the Palestinian people who are subjected to aggression.
