Nizwa: Restaurants and cafes in the Wilayat of Nizwa in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate are witnessing an unusual demand for Iftar during Ramadhan.

Decked up lamps and other decorations, the restaurants and cafes are abuzz with visitors seeking a new experience in the holy month.

Restaurant and cafe owners in Nizwa are focusing on offering menus and buffets rich in delicious foods including traditional fare like dates, milk, and fruits. Among the most popular dishes this year specifically are the wide variety of eastern and western meals that suit all tastes.

Al Julanda al Salmi, owner of Niz Cafe, said, "Many government and private institutions that organised gatherings in the cafe are satisfied. We added extra seats and trained our staff to interact with customers more professionally. The number of customers was higher than usual, perhaps due to increased promotion of the cafe, people's familiarity and confidence in the service provided. We annually host a PlayStation tournament, which has increased the cafe's visitors." Omar al Kamiani, owner of Liwan Nizwa restaurant, said: “We made preparations ahead of Ramadhan and there was a good turnout from visitors. We have hosted around 500 citizens and 300 tourists so far, including families, employees and students. We made some modifications to the menu for Ramadhan to cater to everyone’s taste.’” Shatha al Jabri, Meshan, cafe owner, said:" "The preparations to welcome Ramadhan include decorating the restaurant and outdoor areas, allowing visitors to experience spiritual moments with chants and prayers surrounding the venue. Our customers eagerly await the restaurant's special Iftar meals. Both young and old find comfort in the Ramadhan atmosphere, which is filled with spirituality, joy, and a variety of distinctive Ramadhan dishes. So far, we have received 2,157 people, and we anticipate a further increase due to the upcoming special events and promotions." Other restaurant and cafe owners also confirmed noticeable increase in the number of visitors this year compared to previous years.
