Pacts inked for aflaj maintenance in Al Buraimi

Al Buraimi: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, represented by the Directorate of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Buraimi Governorate, signed two agreements for the maintenance of two aflaj.


Engineer Nasser bin Ali al Marshoudi, Director-General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Buraimi Governorate, said that the signing of the two agreements is part of the directorate’s annual plan to maintain a number of aflaj in the governorate this year.


The agreement for maintaining Falaj Al Hayul involves cleaning and removing the residue, heightening the wall facing the wadi, building a protection wall for the falaj, building a waterwheel, among others. The agreement of the maintenance of the other falaj, Al Sarfanah, involves the construction of a 900-metre-long water canal, maintenance of the water collection basin. — ONA
