AL RUSTAQ: A medical team specialising in paediatric surgery at Al Rustaq Hospital in Al Batinah South Governorate, performed a surgical emergency on a 3-year-old toddler.

Dr Reda Abdulfattah, paediatric surgery consultant at Al Rustaq Hospital, said that the child was brought to the hospital after developing a painful tumour in the lower abdomen. Medical observation clearly showed that the child was suffering from a severe intestinal hernia which required urgent surgical intervention to prevent intestinal damage and the operation was performed successfully.

Dr Abdulfattah, stressed that parents should consult a paediatrician in case that their kids cry continuously specially with infants under 1 year and to pay attention and notice any tumour or pain in any part of the baby’s body especially lower abdomen. — ONA.
