IBRI: An Omani citizen from Al Dhahirah Governorate donated money for the eighth year straight for the release of 51 prisoners who met the conditions of the Fak Kurba humanitarian initiative in its eleventh edition in Al Dhahirah Governorate.

The 11th edition of the Fak Kurba initiative launched on the third day of the holy month of Ramadan is a continuation to efforts made by the Omani Lawyers Association for the release of prisoners or against whom detention orders have been issued in civil, commercial, labour and Sharia cases.

In its past ten editions, the initiative was able to release 5,890 prisoners from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. This year, the initiative targets to release 1,500 prisoners. — ONA
