MUSCAT: Oriental Travels and SE XI posted wins on the second day of Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) Ramadhan tape ball cricket tournament on Saturday. Both the matches were played in front of a good crowd at the PSM grounds.


The first match was played between Oman House King and Oriental Travels. Oman House won the toss and elected to field.


Oriental scored 93 for 3 wickets with Khalid Kail scoring a quickfire 32 runs in 18 balls with two fours and sixes each. Waqas remained not out on 30 runs.


In reply, Oman House could manage only 70 runs in 8 overs with Faizan scoring 20 runs in 6 balls. Nadeem Khan took two wickets for 6 runs.


Khalid Kail was adjudged as the man of the match.


In the second match, Oman Tape Ball Club batted first and scored 60 runs in the stipulated 8 overs. Tahir Khalil got two wickets for four runs.


In reply, SE XI scored 61 runs in just 4.4 overs. Bilal scored 24 runs and was declared the man of the match.


Mohammad Riaz was the chief guest and gave away the man of the match awards.


On Monday, Hal Phone Cosmos will take on JSW XI in the first match at 9 pm. PSM will meet Chrwa XI in the second match of the night at 10.15 pm at the PSM grounds.


On Friday, the tournament was opened by the Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Chancery of the Pakistan Embassy, Bilal Hasan. Also present were PSM Chairman Ameer Hanza, board members and Pakistan Embassy Officers.


In the opening match, Hadi XI beat SK 1010 team by six wickets. SK 1010 scored 76 for 6 wickets in 8 overs with Numan and Zahoor hitting 14 each. Safeer of Hadi XI got 4 wickets for 9 runs in 2 overs to destroy SK batting line-up.


In reply, Hadi XI batters Muhammad Kamran (23) and Kamran Ali (22) scored briskly in seven balls as they clinched victory by 6 wickets.


In the second match, PSM beat Pakistan Embassy team by 31 runs in a high-scoring match.


Batting first, PSM piled up 128 runs in 8 overs. Danish Riaz blasted 55 runs in 15 balls with six sixers and three fours. Muhammad Amir was not out on 19 runs.


Irfan of Pak Embassy took 3-26 in 2 overs.


Pakistan Embassy made a decent chase but ended 31 runs short at 97 runs with Raheef (20) and Nadeem (22) making good contributions.


PSM's Rasil took two wickets for eight runs.
