MANAH: The Oman Across Ages Museum is marking the passage of a year since it was opened under the Royal patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on March 13, 2023.
Engineer al Yaqzan bin Abdullah al Harthi, Director-General of Oman Across Ages Museum,said: “Today we are celebrating the first anniversary of the opening of this cultural edifice and unique architectural masterpiece. The museum receives support and attention which enables it to be an addition to the Omani cultural landscape. Coinciding with the first anniversary of the opening of the museum, visitors will be allowed to enter the museum free of charge on Wednesday, March 13. The museum seeks to shed light on the unique characteristics of the Sultanate of Oman and highlight its ancient history and the Renaissance achievements.”
He added: “During the first year, the museum received over 450,000 visitors including official delegations, public and private institutions and schools. In addition, the museum witnessed intensified programmes and hosted global events such as the International Museum Construction Congress in February. Besides, over 70 events in various fields and 74 museum education programmes were held and were attended by 2,243 participants.
Noteworthy, the Oman Across Ages Museum took part in 11 global events, including the Arabian Travel Market which was held in the Emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, the Museum Leadership and Management Conference in the State of Qatar, the International Museum Construction Congress in the Republic of Belgium, the 34th edition of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information (AFLI) Conference in Saudi Arabia, a cultural conference at the University of Isfahan (UI), the 56th Seminar for Arabian Studies in Denmark, the Specialized Libraries Association Arabian Gulf Chapter Conference in Qatar, the Berlin Stock Exchange 2024 exhibition, and participation At the GITEX 2023 Dubai Information Technology Exhibition, among others. — ONA
