Five arrested for creating 'fake' official website

Muscat: The Department of Criminal Investigation of the ROP has arrested five people of Arab nationalities for committing fraud by creating a fake website identical to one of the official websites to lure victims to provide their bank information in exchange for obtaining certain services.


According to official sources, the fraudsters aimed to seize sums of money from their bank accounts and invest them in the digital currency market.


Legal procedures are being completed against them.
