MUSCAT: Prof. Rashid Hamad Al Balushi, Chairperson of the Oman Human Rights Commission, met with Gillian Oxenheim, Head of the Mission Office at the United Kingdom Embassy accredited to the Sultanate of Oman.
During the meeting, the commission was introduced, along with its powers, its system, the monitoring mechanism, and receiving complaints related to human rights, in addition to the role that the commission plays in communicating and coordinating with international organizations concerned with human rights and the human rights awareness and education programs that are implemented in the Sultanate of Oman, targeting various segments of society.
The meeting was attended by Othman Raja from the Political Section of the British Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman, and Shatha Abdul Majeed al Zadjali, Director of the Department of Organizations and International Relations at the Oman Human Rights Commission.
