Hotels see growth in occupancy, revenues in January

Muscat: Revenues of the 3-5-star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 17.1 percent by the end of January 2024 to RO24,751,000, compared to 21,139, 000 at the end of January 2023.


The number of hotel guests in January increased by 20.5 percent to 215,660, compared to 178,945 guests at the end of January 2023, while the occupancy rate recorded a growth of 16.2 percent to reach 59.4, compared to 51.1 percent during the period in 2023.


The National Centre for Statistics and Information said that the number of Omani guests increased by 21.7 percent to 75,219, followed by the Gulf nationals (10.5 percent to 11,961 guests) and the number of European guests (17.9 percent to 73,325).


The number of guests from the Americas was 7,231, followed by the Africans (1,148 inmates with a growth rate of 38.8 percent.


The number of Asian guests increased by 27.8 percent to reach 27,191.
