Seeb defeated Al Nasr 2-0 on Wednesday evening at Al Saada Sports Complex in the 13th round of Oman Football League (OFL).

The league leaders started the match with high pressure and possession, while Al Nasr played defensively and relied on counterattacks. In the third minute, Aref al Alawi threatened Al Nasr’s goal with a powerful shot. Al Nasr tried to create several chances but did not threaten Seeb’s goal. Seeb continued their high pressure trying to score the opening goal, and from a counterattack, Mohsin al Ghassani, Seeb’s striker, scored the first goal in the 27th minute. After conceding the goal, Al Nasr’s players tried to get back into the game and launched several attacks but they were not lucky enough to score. The first half ended with Seeb leading 1-0.

Al Nasr started the second half attacking and trying to equalise the score and they had several dangerous chances that were thwarted by Seeb’s defence. Seeb player Abdulrahman al Mashrifi returned through a dangerous counterattack to score the second goal in the 55th minute. Al Nasr continued their style but was not lucky enough to convert their chances into goals. During the second half, the two coaches made several changes, but the match did not witness a change in the level. Despite Al Nasr’s superiority in the last minutes, they could not take advantage of that advantage and the match ended with Seeb winning 2-0.

With this result, Seeb’s points tally rose to 35, flying away at the top of the league standings. While Al Nasr’s points tally froze at 21 in fourth place.

Seeb is only 3 wins away from winning the title regardless of the results of their closest rivals, Al Nahda, the defending champions, who are second in the standings with 26 points.

Al Nahda crushed Al Wahda 5-1 on Wednesday evening at Sur Sports Complex in the 13th round of the Oman Football League.

Al Nahda dominated the match, scoring the first goal by professional player Walter Boualia in the 21st minute. Yousef al Saadi, Al Wahda player, equalised in the 40th minute. After that, Al Nahda came back strongly and managed to add the second goal by Ali Dahi in the 42nd minute and Sultan Badr added the third goal in the 44th minute to end the first half with a score of 3-1.

In the second half, Al Nahda players managed to strengthen the result and Ahmed al Matroushi scored in the 47th minute, and Ali Dahi in the 72nd minute to end the match in favour of Al Nahda with a score of 5-1.

With this result, Al Nahda’s points tally rose to 26, regaining the second place in the Oman League standings, while Al Wahda’s points tally froze at 7 points, in 11th place before last, which is one of the relegation places to the second division.
