Oman Broadband, a key player in Oman’s telecom landscape, has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Dawiyat Integrated Telecommunications & Information Technology Company of Saudi Arabia.

The agreement was inked by Eng Sultan bin Ahmed al Wahaibi, CEO - Oman Broadband, and Eng Wael al Ghamdi, CEO of Dawiyat Integrated Telecommunications & Information Technology Company. The signing ceremony took place during Oman Broadband's participation in LEAP 2024 tech event, which began in Riyadh on Monday, March 4, 2024.

The accord seeks to bolster international connectivity by providing the essential infrastructure for the development of fiber optic networks between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This collaborative effort is anticipated to unlock new horizons for both Omani and Saudi operators, facilitating the realization of economic and commercial advantages.

Eng Sultan al Wahaibi of Oman Broadband, said the pact will enable the extension of the fiber optic network to seamlessly link the borders of the two countries, fostering terrestrial connectivity that would pave the way for mutual strategic benefits.

He emphasized that the collaboration will not only bolster international connectivity but also provide an opportunity for knowledge exchange and experience-sharing in the field of fiber optics.

Moreover, the partnership aims to enhance the products and services offered by both companies through collaborative efforts in designing and developing communications and information technology. This will not only meet market and regulatory requirements but also allow for a greater focus on innovation, research, and development.

In addition to improving overall communications and information technology, the agreement is set to foster the exchange of emerging technologies and innovations. Both companies are poised to establish joint research and development projects, furthering advancements in the field, particularly in terms of fiber optics.
