Muscat: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) on Tuesday announced the results of its initiative to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during 2023.
The Authority allocated more than RO5.7 million to support 51 SMEs, which benefited 120 local suppliers.
The initiative included organizing 11 workshops in various governorates of the Sultanate to raise awareness among SMEs about the available job opportunities in the telecommunications sector and to provide technical and administrative support to help them participate in tenders and contracts.
An official source says : "Supporting SMEs is one of our main objectives at TRA. We believe that these companies play a vital role in developing the national economy and creating job opportunities for Omani youth."
He added: "Our initiative to support SMEs has achieved positive results during 2023, and we are committed to continuing this support in the coming years."
