Al Seeb extend lead at top

Al Seeb defeated Ibri 1-0 late on Thursday at Seeb Stadium in the 12th round of Oman Professional League in a thrilling match. Both teams were eager to win and earn the three points. Muscat based team had an advantage in the first half, playing for the win and maintaining their lead. They dominated the half, while Ibri relied on a compact defense and counterattacks. Ibri players managed to create only one chance during the half. Al Seeb had several dangerous chances but were unlucky to score, and the first half ended in a goalless draw.


The two teams entered the second half with the same style as the previous half. Al Seeb and Ibri exchanged chances and Muscat based team managed to score the only goal of the match through their player Frank William in the 50th minute. After the goal, Ibri tried to get back into the match, but they were faced a strong defense where all the attempts were not succeeded and the match ended at a 1-0 victory for Al Seeb.


With this win, Al Seeb raised their points tally to 29, and they are now at the top of the league standings. Ibri points tally remained at 16, and they remained in sixth place, but with a goal difference than Dhofar.


Dhofar edge Al Wahda


Dhofar defeated Al Wahda 1-0 on Thursday at Al Saada Sports Complex Stadium. In the opening half, Dhofar dominated and pressured hard towards the opponents side. Al Wahda relied on a deep defense and counterattacks. The two teams exchanged chances during the first half without scoring any goals, and the half ended in a goalless draw.


With the start of the second half, Dhofar played better and missed several scoring chances in front of the goal of their opponent Al Wahda, who exchanged attacks with their opponent that did not pose a direct threat to the goal. The two teams continued to try, and from an attack, Qasim Saeed managed to find the back of the net for Al Wahda with a perfect goal in the 83rd minute, and the match ended with a 1-0 victory for Dhofar.


The win took Salalah giants tally to 16, but remained in seventh place with one goal difference behind Ibri while Al Wahda's points tally remained at seven and they stayed in the 11th place (the penultimate place), one point behind Bahla, who are at the bottom of the standings.


In another match, Al Nasr beat Bahla 2-1 on Thursday in the same round of the top tier league at Nizwa Sports Complex. Al Nasr's goals were scored by professionals Abubakar Massali and Mehdi Hamidan, while Bahla's goal was scored by professional Rafael.


With this win, Al Nasr raised their points tally to 21 in fourth place temporarily, while Bahla's points tally remained at 6, and they are at the bottom of the standings.
