Al Dhahirah Tourism Festival attracts 47,000 visitors in six days

IBRI: The Al Dhahirah Tourism Festival is continuing to attract visitors and more than 47,000 have visited the venue since its launch last Thursday. It has received a wide turnout and heavy attendance from inside and outside of the Sultanate of Oman.


Najeeb bin Ali al Rowas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, said the festival has different programmes daily. It embodies the Omani identity through various events such as the heritage village, cultural theatres, and traditional bands.


Al Rowas said the festival offers more than 400 direct benefits for small and medium enterprises, productive families, job-seekers, and rural women, in addition to being an opportunity for young people to hone their artistic skills and gain experience in order to be capable of moving forward in future events.


The festival is full of events and activities such as folk arts, the art of Humble Al Bush, horse show, heritage village activities, the Smurfs village, carnival and circus shows, various theatrical works for adults and children, laser shows, daily competitions, children's toys and a consumer exhibition, which includes many corners.


The festival continues until March 6. The morning period of the festival (10 am -1 pm) is allocated for women and school students only.
