Muscat: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning said that it has expedited work to raise citizens’ satisfaction over the compensation related to the implementation of public benefit projects, and to draw up a plan for each project and provide the necessary funding to complete the compensation programme for each project. The ministry has devised 8 initiatives for the implementation of the compensation programme during the course of this year.
The compensation initiative for the bypass road project in Al Dhahirah Governorate aims to complete the compensation for all plots of land affected by the road project the implementation of which comes in response to the Royal directives of His Majesty the Sultan to establish a network of modern roads to streamline economic and societal activities and to bolster the nation’s road network. The initiative aims to compensate the owners of 246 plots of land by the end of 2024.
Regarding the compensations for those affected by the railway project, the ministry confirmed that it will pay indemnity for the lands affected by the project in Al Buraimi and North Al Batinah governorates which amount to 48 plots of land in Al Buraimi as well as 647 other cases in North Al Batinah Governorate with a total of 147 residential lands, 490 agricultural lands, 2 commercial lands and 8 commercial-residential land plots.
Besides, the Ministry has devised a plan to complete the rural housing scheme in plains and mountains in Dhofar Governorate. In all, the initiative aims to organize the rural housing project in the mountain range as well as sort out the properties located in the region by using modern technologies such as aerial photography and data analysis with artificial intelligence to ensure the accuracy of spatial data.
The ministry also seeks to speed up the implementation of the compensation initiative for mining projects in the Wilayat of Yanqul in Al Dhahirah Governorate. The initiative aims to complete compensations for all cases affected by the mining project with in-kind compensation for 265 land plots and cash compensation for 36 other cases.
