MUSCAT: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, through the Department of Cultural Identity, unveiled the 'Map of Cultural and Creative Industries' research study project at the Youth Centre in Muscat Governorate. This two-year project aims to comprehensively understand and analyze the cultural and creative industries sectors in Oman, proposing a methodological framework for monitoring the creative economy's contribution to the national gross domestic product.

Thuraya bint Hamad Al Maouliyah, Head of the Cultural Industries Department, highlighted the map's seven pillars, covering policies, creative economy, education, national talent, intellectual property, technology and innovation, and creativity and society. The project involves systematic scientific research and international consultations with specialists, contributing to evidence-based data for decision-makers to support Oman's cultural strategy.

The launch event, attended by dignitaries and experts, included the publishing of the QR code for the map file on the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth's website. - ONA
