

MUSCAT: The revenues of hotels with a classification of 3-5 stars in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 23.4 per cent by the end of 2023 to reach RO 229.256 million, compared to RO 185. 772 million by the end of 2022.
Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) attributed this increase to an increase in the total number of hotel guests by 27.1 per cent, recording 2,071,169 guests by the end of 2023, compared to 1,629,205 guests by the end of 2022, while the occupancy rate recorded a growth of 8.8 per cent.
Statistics showed that the number of Omani guests increased by 10 per cent, reaching 769,790 guests. The number of Gulf guests also increased by 23.8 per cent, recording 198,489 guests, and the number of European guests increased by 43.6 per cent, reaching 517,278 guests.
The number of guests from the Americas reached 57,752, while the number of visitors from the African continent reached 11,670, with a growth rate of 29.2 per cent. The number of Asian visitors also increased by 35.2 per cent, reaching 297,270, and from Oceania, 44,726, an increase of 133.8 per cent. — ONA
