Muscat: Three children who were swept away in the flowing Wadi Bani Ghafir in the Rustaq state were found dead on Monday, according to the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA).

In a separate incident, the CDAA teams rescued three people as their vehicle drifted into a wadi in Izki Wilayat while the fourth person, a woman, was found dead on Tuesday morning.

One person was found dead after a vehicle with two people drifted in Wadi Ghayya in the Wilayat of Yanqul, while the second person was rescued.

Rescue teams in Jabal Akhadar recovered body of a person after his car was swept away on Monday and search ongoing for the other missing person.

Earlier, the CDAA team rescued six people after their vehicle was stranded in a flowing wadi stream in the Wilayat of Yanqul, and all of them are in good health.

The CDAA said its teams have dealt with 224 reports since the beginning of the weather situation, and rescue operations are continuing to date.

The authority called on everyone to exercise the utmost caution, not to risk crossing valleys, to stay away from water bodies and lighting poles, and to monitor children to preserve their safety.

Weather conditions

There are chances of scattered rain on parts of the coast of the Sea of ​​Oman and the South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates.

According to Oman Meterology, “Most of the impact will be concentrated for today and tomorrow in the South al Sharqiyah, which may witness rain of varying intensity.”

The weather condition will weaken over the atmosphere of the Sultanate of Oman starting Tuesday evening, with chances of rain of varying intensity remaining scattered over the governorates of South al Sharqiyah and North al Sharqiyah and the coastal

parts of the governorates of North al Batinah, South al Batinah, and Muscat, and rains in parts of the Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates. The weather is expected to stabilize starting Wednesday

The expected amount of rain today is from 10 to 30 mm and there are no indications of new weather conditions.
