

MUSCAT: Internationally renowned classical Dutch pianist, Gile Bae, recently graced Muscat with her presence, leaving an indelible mark on aspiring Omani and expatriate music students at the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM).
Bae conducted an inspiring master class, showcasing her virtuosity and providing a transformative experience for the attendees.
Dr Saida Khalilova, Director of the Royal Conservatory of Music and Art, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to ROHM for facilitating this exceptional opportunity.
The master class featured outstanding performances by young prodigies, including Mona Joudi (13 years old) interpreting J S Bach's Piano Concerto No 1 in D minor with the orchestra, Ilya Muromtsev (13 years old) tackling Rimsky-Korsakov and Rachmaninoff's Flight of the Bumblebee, Suhana Kapoor (13 years old) delivering a mesmerizing performance of Bach's piano concerto with orchestra in three movements, Sahar Obada Majanni (14 years old) interpreting F Chopin's Nocturne in C sharp Minor, and Hamed Mohammed Sadiq Sulaiman (14 years old) captivating the audience with Bach’s Air on G String.
Regrettably, the promising Omani talent, Suleiman from Abu Dhabi, was unable to participate due to illness.
Dr Saida extended her gratitude to the ROHM staff for the opportunity to host the master class with Gile Bae. She remarked, “It was a very valuable chance for my students, and I am delighted to see their continuous improvement in piano performance. I also want to express my appreciation to the parents for their tremendous support, contributing to the success of this event.”
With a remarkable record of accomplishment, Dr Saida has helped achieve laureateship in various international competitions for her students. With over 22 years of experience, she has successfully taught adults, adolescents, and children, emphasizing increased student engagement and fostering positive learning outcomes.
This master class, enriched by Gile Bae's presence, serves as a testament to the enduring impact of musical education and mentorship.
