MUSCAT: The Muscat branch of Oman Women’s Association organised a training programme on innovative social work in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.


The programme seeks to overturn the prevailing concepts of social work and replace them with new concepts characterized by innovation and creativity to contribute to resolve many problems that will benefit different segments of society.


Maryam Muhammad al Zadjali, President of the Omani Women’s Association in Muscat, said, “The training seeks towards innovative, pioneering, and sustainable social work and social innovation initiatives. It aims to acquire necessary skills and obtain the appropriate tools to make the idea of social innovation a reality."


The programme aims to provide the target group with concepts, theories, and solid applied foundations in the search for innovative solutions to pressing social issues and develop the vision, knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to confront challenges in social work.


Social innovation is an innovative idea that provides a distinctive service to society by using new ideas, technology, and concepts to solve social challenges and improve the quality of life of the individual and society. The diversity of social innovation lies in a wide range of fields, from health and education to sustainable development and technology.
