French farmers drive tractors in a convoy, after calls of the CR47 union to go block the Rungis market, in La Croix-Blanche, near Agen, southwestern France, on Monday, amid nationwide protests called by several farmers unions on pay, tax and regulations. Local branches of farmer unions FNSEA and Jeunes Agriculteurs announced a "siege of the capital for an indefinite period" starting at 2 pm on Monday as some farmers feel that the government's announcements in favour of the sector are insufficient. - AFP
