

MUSCAT: According to preliminary statistics released by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the production of refineries and petroleum industries increased by 1.2% by the end of December 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
The statistics indicate that the production of M-91 increased by 13.7% by the end of December 2023, with sales rising by 11.2%. Furthermore, liquefied petroleum gas, paraxylene, and gasoline products led to an increase in exports, with growth rates of 82.8%, 163.8%, and 76.8% respectively.
The production of M-91 reached 15,705,600 barrels by the end of December 2023, with sales amounting to 14,640,900 barrels.
In contrast, the production of M- 95 decreased by 25.6% to 11,044,300 barrels, and sales also declined by 3.9% to 12,087,500 barrels.
Diesel production decreased by 0.4% to reach 32,425,900 barrels, with sales totaling 14,353,700 barrels. Additionally, aviation fuel production increased by 25.3% to reach 9,866,500 barrels, with sales reaching 4,429,200 barrels. Liquefied petroleum gas production also increased by 13.9% to reach 7,861,000 barrels.
Regarding petrochemicals, the statistics indicate a 59.1% increase in gasoline production, reaching 138,200 metric tons. Paraxylene production stood at 494,900 metric tons, marking a significant increase of 162.4%. On the other hand, polypropylene production decreased by 11.1% to 222,900 metric tons.
Oman's exports of M-91 decreased by 23.9% to reach 1,221,900 barrels, while exports of M-95 reached 580,400 barrels, down by 81.3% compared to the same period in 2022. Additionally, exports of diesel amounted to 18,448,500 barrels, and aviation fuel exports reached 5,531,900 barrels, representing an increase of 19.1%. Moreover, exports of liquefied petroleum gas stood at 449,200 barrels.
Paraxylene exports reached 493,150 metric tonnes, while gasoline exports amounted to 142,240 metric tonnes. Polypropylene exports decreased by 4.9%, recording 208,700 metric tonnes. — ONA
