Council of Oman partakes in Arab Parliament meeting

CAIRO: The Council of Oman took part in the second plenary meeting of the fourth session of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament which was held in the headquarters of the Secretariat-General of the League of Arab States.


The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation comprised of Shaikh Dr Talib bin Hilal al Hosni, member of the State Council, Sariyah bint Khalfan al Hadiyah, member of the State Council Hameed bin Nasser al Nasseri, member of Majlis Ash’shura.


The meeting discussed the developments and issues of the Arab world, the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the ongoing aggression against Gaza and the brotherly Palestinian people. The report of the Palestine Committee in the Arab Parliament denounced the crimes committed by the occupying power, its bloody escalation and racist practices against the Palestinian people and prisoners emphasizing the continuation of the Arab Parliament’s efforts to support Palestine and to complete its procedures regarding the lawsuit submitted by the Arab Parliament to the International Criminal Court to investigate Israel’s crimes.

The Palestine Committee called on the international community and active parties to intervene immediately to stop the aggression and protect defenseless civilians, exert pressure on the occupation forces to stop attacks and provocative actions against the Palestinian people, adhere to the rules of the international humanitarian law and compel them to submit to the will for peace based on international law, stressing the Arab Parliament’s firm stance supportive of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.


The session reviewed the results of the meetings of the Arab Parliament committees including the parliamentary document for Arab women, the report on the social situation in the Arab world 2023, the draft law regulating combatting food supply chain losses, the report on the situation of human rights in the Arab world for the year 2023, and a draft indicative law to combat bullying in the Arab world. It also discussed the adoption of a comprehensive Arab vision regarding enhancing security and stability in the Arab world.
