Muscat: At the behest of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Taimour bin Asaad Al Said will preside over the annual race of the Royal Cavalry, due to be held this year on 22 January in the Wilayat of Ibri, Governorate of A’Dhahirah.
The event will be organized by the Royal Court Affairs, represented by the Royal Cavalry The race will consist of five laps for purebred Arabian horses.
The last lap assumes special significance due to the fact that the riders will compete to win His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup. The Royal Cavalry will organize equestrian sports shows in between the laps. The shows will include musical performances and assorted folklore arts linked to horsemanship.
