Musandam Airport to be ready in 2028

Muscat: The new Musandam Airport will be completed by the second half of 2028.


It was revealed that all studies of the new Musandam Airport project have been completed and the appropriate site has been chosen for its construction


"The new airport will have a runway, taxiway, terminal, and service and hangar area suitable for the handling of up to Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 size aircraft.." the Ministry of Transport and Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) said during a presentation on Sunday.]

During his meeting with sheiks and dignitaries and some members of the Council of Oman and the Municipal Council, businessmen from the Musandam Governorate, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik stressed linking the governorate with local and international flights.


The Civil Aviation Authority said it appreciates the Royal support and will work to implement its directives in a way that enhances the various economic, tourism, and logistical sectors.


Musandam airport project is expected to be a game changer for the region's development and will have the capacity to handle 250,000 passengers per year.
