MUSCAT: Al Seeb are flying high in the top tier of the volleyball league as they topped the outstanding list of the league. Muscat based team registered their third consecutive win in Oman’s first division volleyball league 2023-24 as they won against Al Bashayer 3-0 ( 25-18, 25-20 and 25-23) on Friday at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, while Oman club defeated Suhar 3-0 (25-19, 25-21 and 25-19) in the same venue. Al Salam blanked Majees 3-1 (25-22, 25-15, 21-25 and 25-20) in another match at Suhar Sports Complex. The league is currently in the second stage as six teams advanced to this round including: Al Seeb, Al Salam, Majees, Oman club, Suhar and Al Bashayer.


Seeb, coached by the experienced coach Jamal al Mamari, began their second stage of the league with a winning note as they thrashed Suhar 3-1 and then they beat Oman club 3-0 in the second match before defeating Al Bashayer 3-0 in the last game. The currently runners up Al Salam with seven points in the tally commenced the league with a strong start as they won Oman club 3-2 before edging Al Basher in the second match by 3-2. In the third game, they won Majees 3-1. Majees are currently in third place with five points while Oman club in the fourth place by four points. Suhar and Al Bashayer are positioned in the fifth and sixth positions with one point respectively.


In the fourth week matches of the league in its second stage, Al Bashayer will Oman club while Suhar will take on Al Salam. Majees will play against the toppers Al Seeb. Defending Champions, Seeb, will aim to retain the title and recall the memories of the least season as they had won against Oman club in the concluding match by 3-0 while Al Bashayer had finished in third place after they had defeated Suhar 3-1 in the third and fourth playoff.
