SALALAH: The number of visitors to the Land of Frankincense sites in the Governorate of Dhofar in 2023 stood at 107,268 visitors. Meanwhile, the number of visitors to Taqah Castle and Mirbat Castle stood at 10,288.


Rowas bin Hafeedh al Rowas, Assistant Director-General for Heritage and Tourism in Dhofar, said that visitors to Al Baleed Archaeological Park and the Museum of the Frankincense Land during 2023 stood at 61,974, while the visitors of the Samahram Archaeological Site stood at 32,694.

Moreover, the number of visitors to the Wbar Archaeological Site (Shisr) reached 12,600.


Al Rowas added that the number of visitors to Taqah Castle in 2023 stood at 5,224, while the number of visitors to Mirbat Castle stood at 5,064.


The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, represented by the Directorate-General of Heritage and Tourism in the Governorate of Dhofar, develops the sites and provides them with service and aesthetic facilities to serve the goals of cultural and archaeological tourism in the governorate. - ONA
