MUSCAT: In a ground-breaking initiative, the Infitech Training Institute, a subsidiary of Abraj Energy Services, Oman's leading provider of oil and gas services, marked a momentous occasion with the graduation of a cohort of aspiring professionals from its one-year vocational program in electricity and mechanics within the oil and gas sector. This innovative programme, which includes hands-on employment opportunities, was generously funded by the Ministry of Labour and successfully equipped 42 recent graduates, holding bachelor's and diploma degrees, with the qualifications necessary to excel in Oman's thriving oil and gas industry.

The graduation ceremony was hosted at the Avani Muscat Hotel on Sunday, December 24, 2023, under the patronage of Sayyid Salim bin Musallam al Busaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development. Several executive members of strategic partners and stakeholders attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Sayyid Salim bin Musallam al Busaidi expressed his pleasure and congratulations, acknowledging the graduates' readiness to contribute effectively to the workforce and commending the Infitech Training Institute for their dedicated efforts in preparing job seekers for the labour market.

Furthermore, Al Busaidi emphasised that such professional training programs are pivotal in empowering the nation's workforce, creating quality employment opportunities, and recognizing the exceptional competence of Omani professionals across various sectors, particularly within the oil and gas sector.

Engineer Saif al Hamhami, CEO of Abraj Energy Services, shared his enthusiasm: "Today, we celebrate the graduation of this exceptional group from Oman's pioneering vocational training program. Our commitment, embodied by the Infitech Training Institute, is to contribute to the development of highly qualified national professionals, aligned with the Ministry of Labour’s tenth five-year plan for 2021-2025 and in full alignment with Oman Vision 2040's objectives for the qualification and training of Omani talents."

Al Hamhami also highlighted the wealth of tools and activities provided by the programme, ensuring that the graduates are well-prepared for their professional roles and capable of honing their skills to meet the demands of the oil and gas sector.

Notably, this vocational training program, meticulously implemented by the institute, is the first in Oman. Trainees dedicated a total of 1,512 training hours to develop their skills. The programme introduced numerous techniques and strategies to enhance trainees' performance, making them well-prepared to join the workforce. Their abilities perfectly align with their respective specialisations and work environments, resulting in heightened productivity within their future roles.

It is worth mentioning that the trainees underwent theoretical training at the Infitech Training Institute. Additionally, they completed practical training assignments, translating their theoretical knowledge into practical skills, at three strategic partners: Abraj Energy Services, Shaleem Oil Company, and Al Shawamikh Oil Services.
