The report emphasized that the increase in production in the agricultural and livestock sectors contributes to food security in Oman, as domestic production meets about 80% of the country's needs for meat and dairy. It also contributes to economic growth by providing jobs and income for farmers and herders.

The following are some of the factors that contributed to the increase in production in the agricultural and livestock sectors in Oman in 2022: * Government support for the agricultural and livestock sectors, through the provision of loans, grants, and technical assistance.

* Increased investment in the agricultural and livestock sectors, from the public and private sectors.

* Technological advances in agriculture and livestock.

Despite the increase in production in the agricultural and livestock sectors, there are some challenges that they face, such as: Limited agricultural land and pastures; Climate change; and Competition from imported agricultural and livestock products.

The Omani government is working to address these challenges by implementing ambitious plans and programs to develop the agricultural and livestock sectors, which will contribute to achieving food security and promoting economic growth.
