Third batch tickets of Asian Cup Qatar 2023 to go on sale today

The Local Organising Committee representatives of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 announced in Muscat that the third batch of tickets will go for sale to public on Wednesday. This was informed in Muscat on Monday night in presence of Hassan Rabia al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Local Organising Committee of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulaziz al Thani, Media Director of the Organising Committee, Mohammed al Yahmadi, Executive Director of OFA and Salim al Habsi, Vice-Chairman of Sports Media Committee in Oman Journalists Association and moderator of the media session.


Hassan al Kuwari thanked the Omani fans for their enthusiasm to purchase the tickets of Oman matches in AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023. “A third batch of tickets for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 will be available to the public as of Wednesday at 5 pm (Oman time). I would like to thank Oman’s fans for their continuous support to their national team. This confirms Oman fans full support to their national team even in significant aboard events,” he added.


Shaikh Hamad al Thani announced Qatar’s full readiness to host the AFC Asian Cup for a record third time. “As many as 2,000 media personnel will attend to cover this major event from different parts of Asian continent. The media centre which is located in Meshrib, Doha city will be opened to all the media representatives from beginning of January,” he added.

The media director of the organising committee confirmed to Omani media representatives that 'Hayya' card is not mandatory for the GCC nationalities and it is not linked to the match tickets.


Qatar is set to host the AFC Asian Cup from January 12 to February 10, 2024 and the Asian prestigious event will see Asia’s top 24 teams which will compete for glory in the Fifa World Cup stadiums. A total of 51 matches are set to be played across nine stadiums during the tournament period. The iconic Lusail Stadium will host both the opening and final matches.


As many as 24 teams will participate in this 18th edition of the continental tournament. The top two teams from each group besides the four best third-placed teams will secure tickets to the Round of 16. Qatar is the first country to host the tournament three times in its history as they had hosted previously in 1988 and 2011 editions.


Besides the huge fans attendance to this major football event, it was announced that 6,000 volunteers between the ages of 18 to 72 from 107 nationalities have been recruited to provide support for a wide range of tasks, covering 20 functional areas of the tournament. Many of them have experience gained through their participation in previous major sporting events hosted by Qatar, while five per cent of those recruited will be volunteering for the first time.
