MUSCAT: Muscat Rockers Cricket lifted the MOCL T16 Champions Cup recently by defeating Seasons Spartans by seven wickets in the second edition of the MOCL Grand Final held at the Challengers Cricket Club ground in Al Amerat.
Winning the toss, Muscat Rockers Captain Loganathan elected to field. Seasons Spartans posted a score of 132 runs all out in 15.4 overs. Muscat Rockers achieved the target in 9.2 overs for the loss of three wickets.
Mohammed Mifraz from Muscat Rockers scored 82 runs in 30 balls securing the man of the match in the final.
Adesh Antony from Muscat Rockers took four wickets in four overs while Mohammed Rasfas and Vignesh Kumar took 2 wickets each.
Shabeeb Ahmed from Seasons Spartans scored 87 runs in 45 balls.
Ameer Naduv from Mazoon Diary was awarded the man of the series for his outstanding performance with the bat and the ball.
Ameer was also awarded the best batsman of the series for scoring 491 runs.
Rana Zeeshan from National Plastic was awarded the best bowler with 24 wickets in the tournament.
Noufal from the Rising Phoenix was awarded for hitting a maximum of 37 sixes in the tournament.
Muscat Rockers' Shoukat Ali scored the highest individual score of 148 not out during the tournament.
The tournament was conducted in the spirit of fun for all cricket lovers in Oman.
More than 20 teams participated in this league.
The trophies and cash awards were given away by Robert, Arun, Moin, Rejeesh and Ratheesh from the MOCL organising committee.
