Europcar take lead in Oman Golf League

MUSCAT: The second round of the Oman Golf League concluded with Europcar taking a significant lead, showcasing remarkable performance and strategic play, by securing 88 points in the second round, bringing their total to 181 points. The competition heated up as teams from various corporate sectors, vied for top positions.


Notably, Marafiq managed to maintain their second spot with a total of 175 points, while Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) emerged as a strong contender in third place with 170 points. David Miles, representing PDO stood out as the best individual player with an impressive 38 points. This suggests that the third round could bring a shift in the leaderboard, with every team eyeing a spot in the top three.


Nasser al Sheibani, CEO of Al Mouj Muscat, said: "The Oman Golf League is progressing splendidly. The competitive edge displayed by the teams is commendable, and we are thrilled to host such an inspiring event. Congratulations to the champions of this round, and we are eagerly anticipating the next phase of this exciting league."


Rashid Ali from the Renaissance team one, praised the course at Al Mouj Golf, saying "the course is in pristine condition, the best I’ve experienced. Since it’s mostly about networking, we are thoroughly enjoying our time at Al Mouj Golf. We are optimistic about our chances of finishing in the top three and look forward to the next round with great enthusiasm."


Tom Annberg from the Asyad team, also expressed his admiration for the course, highlighting its role in their strategic approach. "Al Mouj Golf’s course with its impeccable maintenance, serves as a testament to its fantastic set up, reflecting high standards we strive for at the league. Our team is deeply committed to taking the lead in the league; we continuously re-evaluate and adapt our strategy, focusing on optimising our strengths and addressing any weaknesses to ensure we emerge victorious in the upcoming assignment."


Following the same sentiment, Nitin Sapre from the Europcar team, shared his team’s optimistic stance. "Our spirit is high, and we are very optimistic about our performance. We are positive about finishing on top by the end of this league."


As the Oman Golf League moves into its third round, the fairways of Al Mouj Golf will once again be the stage for friendly yet intense competition in November. Supported by Nama Water Services, Hi FM and Hala FM, the league offers teams the chance to leverage the exceptional amenities of Al Mouj Muscat, including its vibrant dining and retail district and luxurious stay-and-play options.
