OFA holds talks on promotional campaign for Oman at Asian Cup

MUSCAT: The Oman Football Association (OFA) in coordination with its media and commercial partners discussed and reviewed the details of its promotional campaign to support Oman national team in the 2024 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar next January and the Preliminary Joint Qualification (Round 2) for the Fifa World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027. The discussion workshop took place on Sunday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in presence of OFA officials, representatives of media and commercial partners.


Mohammed al Yahmadi, Executive Director of OFA, began the workshop on highlighting the importance of this campaign. “It is a great opportunity to meet today and discuss on the initial thoughts on the slogan and details of the national team promotional campaign that will take place soon to support the team in its journey in the upcoming Asian Cup Championships and joint qualifiers for the Fifa World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027. This workshop will provide many inputs and outputs from the participants who will help us to draft a proper campaign together.

We are here to listen from everyone any ideas, thoughts and supportive proposals. The OFA prefers to follow a clear strategy that will ensure involving everyone in determining the slogan,” he said.


The promotional campaign workshop included many discussions including the fans' activities and events which will be run in cooperation with the OFA and its relevant supporting partners. Also, the function highlighted on roadshows and how to attract more audience for the forthcoming period. Furthermore, the supporting partners’ role during the next phase in assisting the national team campaign towards registering the desired targets. Moreover, the participants in the workshop discussed the common message from local sports media towards supporting Red Warriors in their journey at the next major assignments. Before end of the workshop, the participants were split into groups for brainstorming sessions to create many slogans which will be raised in later stage to the specialists for further revision and studies.
