Al Rawas explained that the competition evaluates the sports, cultural, and youth activities carried out by the clubs in local and external competitions during the past year. It also assesses the administrative and financial aspects of the clubs throughout the year, selecting the top ten clubs to win the competition. The club securing the first position is honoured with His Majesty Sultan's Grand Youth Cup.

Al Rawas pointed out that the current edition of the competition witnessed the participation of 42 clubs, and it demonstrated outstanding performance by several clubs that qualified to be among the top ten.

“Since the competition's inception in 1998, the ministry has been developing evaluation criteria to meet the needs of each stage and align the competition's goals with the ministry's plans and the upcoming Omani sports strategy in line with Oman Vision 2040. The evaluation criteria will focus on four main pillars: sports, cultural, and youth activities; economy and development; sports organisations' governance; and sustainable environment,” Al Rawas added.
