Muscat: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in its third quarter report said that the total mobile phone subscriptions until the third quarter of 2023 was 7,157,000, an increase of 1.94 percent compared to the second quarter of the same year. The average usage of 86.2 minutes per subscription.
The total landline subscriptions were 575,100, up 2.12 percent from the second quarter of the same year, with an average usage of 20.2 minutes per subscription.
As for mobile broadband, the total subscriptions until the third quarter of 2023 was more than 6, 130, 000, an increase of 3.36 percent compared to the second quarter of the same year, with an average usage of 7.7 GB per subscription.
The total fixed broadband subscriptions reached more than 5, 056, 300 subscriptions, up 2.98 percent from the second quarter of the same year, with an average usage of 551.1 GB per subscription.
The indicators also showed that the total international minutes issued during the third quarter of 2023 amounted to 176.5 million minutes, a decrease of 6.54 percent compared to the second quarter of the same year, which amounted to 188.8 million minutes.
TRA releases these indicators every quarter and includes important data and statistics for fixed and mobile telephony, fixed and mobile broadband, and international calls.
