Muscat: Oman's budget airline SalamAir has said that it is gearing up to launch operations in five key destinations -Hyderabad, Calicut, Jaipur, Trivandrum, and Lucknow.


As per the airline sources, flights to Hyderabad, Kozhikode, and Jaipur from Muscat will commence on December 16, while flights to Lucknow will start on December 17.


No dates have been listed for the Muscat-Trivandrum services.


The Lucknow service will operate five times a week, with flights scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday.


This route expansion provides connectivity to all GCC destinations, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Dammam, Jeddah, Riyadh, Doha, Dubai, and Fujairah. .

"This expansion into the Indian market has been made possible thanks to the support of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Of Sultanate Oman and close collaboration with Oman Air. The CAA played a pivotal role in facilitating this strategic expansion, which is poised to significantly enhance the connectivity between Oman and India, thereby providing travelers with more convenient travel options", the airline said in a statement.


This development represents substantial progress in strengthening Oman's aviation industry and boosting the national economy.

SalamAir also flies to Salalah, Suhar, Duqm, and Masirah, Dubai, Fujairah, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah, Baghdad, Shiraz, Tehran, Mashhad, Istanbul, Rize, Trabzon, Alexandria, Beirut, Almaty, Baku, Kuala Lumpur, Prague, Sarajevo, Bangkok, Phuket, Colombo, Chattogram, Dhaka, Kathmandu, Karachi, Multan, Sialkot, Peshawar.


It operates directly from Suhar to Salalah, Shiraz, and Trabzon, and from Salalah to Muscat, Suhar, Fujairah, Madinah, Bahrain, and Calicut.


The airline operates A320neos and seven A321neos.
