Seeb clinch thrilling victory over Al Bashayer

MUSCAT: In a nail-biting game held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, Seeb Club secured a hard-fought win against Al Bashayer with a final score of 62-58. The intense match was part of the Oman Basketball League general season for 2023-24.


The overall game was dramatic and exciting between the two sides when Seeb managed to turn their deficit into an exciting win over Al Bashayer. Several players from Seeb played a significant role in the victory and scoring, including Bryce Jonathan, Hassan al Faraji, Rashid al Zahibi, and Abdulraza al Batashi. Meanwhile, most of Al Bashayer's points were scored by Damon Rosser, Saeed al Saadi and Hadeed Beit Bakhit.


The match began on an even footing, but Al Bashayer took the lead with Ahmed al Halhali netted two points. Seeb responded promptly, levelling the score with two points from Hassan al Faraji. The game unfolded with captivating back-and-forth actions, as Damon Rosser from Al Bashayer contributed four points. Seeb's Marwan al Hadidi responded with two points, and Bryce Jonathan added one from a foul. Despite Seeb's efforts, Al Bashayer maintained a slim lead of 6-5 by the end of the first quarter.


The excitement continued with both teams exchanging attacks, resulting in Seeb adding 9 points and Al Bashayer scoring 13 points, concluding the first quarter with Al Bashayer leading 19-14.


The second quarter witnessed an equilibrium in both defensive and offensive strategies, with each team adding 15 points. As the first half concluded, Al Bashayer maintained a lead of 34-29.


Seeb staged a comeback in the third quarter, taking the lead in scoring operations and managing to equalise the score. Seeb players hit 16 points, while Al Bashayer managed 11 points. The third quarter ended in a tie at 45-45.


The fourth quarter continued the intense battle, with both teams adding 10 points each, resulting in a tie at 55-55. The match then proceeded to a fifth quarter, where Seeb Club outscored Al Bashayer by 7 points, to secure the final victory with a score of 62-58.


International referee Issam al Siyabi officiated the match as the first referee, and international referee Rashid al Mushaifri served as the second referee. Mazen al Hilali was the third referee, while on the table were Yaqub al Nadabi, Majid al Akhzami and Ghaleb al Hasani.
