Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik presided over the Council of Oman's 8th term’s first annual session in the Governorate of Muscat on Tuesday.
While inaugurating the first annual session of the 8th term of the Council of Oman, he highlighted several priority areas of the government.
On Climate Change, HM the Sultan said, "Moreover, driven by our firm belief in addressing climate change's impacts and our commitment to sustainable, renewable energy, in line with the government's goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 - a target we endorse have directed efforts to expedite the development of the renewable energy sector. This encompasses the development of its legal and policy framework, and the provision of incentives to attract foreign investment and strengthen related local industries, thereby fostering the domestic growth of this vital technology."
