MUSCAT :The Oman national football team players raised up their latest technical preparations for the opening match against Chinese Taipei on Thursday at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex as part of the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2 for Fifa World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 besides 2024 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar campaign. The match will start at 7 pm.
The Red Warriors squad are fit and raring to go for the joint qualifiers matches. The following match will be against Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek city on November 21. The Oman team will aim for a historic show in this edition of the joint qualifiers as eight direct slots are available to Asia along with an inter-continental play-off slot in the expanded 48-team Fifa World Cup 2026.
The Red Warriors began their domestic camp since Tuesday with the full squad after joining of Jameel al Yahmadi and Fayez al Rushedi. The medical situation of Salah al Yahyaei will not allow him to take part in the opening match against Chinese Taipei. The coaching staff headed by Branko Ivankovic and his assisting team were very focused and keen during the previous training sessions to monitor the players physical and technical level and sharpen their technical and tactical skills ahead of the forthcoming matches in the joint qualifiers. Moreover, the head coach implemented several tactical plans to boost defending and attacking areas to score goals.
On the other side, the Chinese Taipei team arrived in Muscat and began their practice sessions in Muscat. The opponent team will undergo their latest training sessions at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.
The Oman Football Association (OFA) announced in their social media accounts on Monday about the sale of tickets of the match. The tickets will be available in majority of Oman Oil stations in Muscat with RO 2 for the general tickets and RO 20 for the VIP ticket.
