Al Seeb, Al Bashayer and Al Salam register second wins in OVA League

MUSCAT: Al Seeb, Al Bashayer and Al Salam clubs registered their second consecutive victories in the second round of Oman First Division Volleyball League 2023-24 on Friday.


Defending champions Al Seeb posted their second win as they won against Saham 3-0 after their first triumph against Bahla 3-0 in the previous round. It was the second loss for Saham as they suffered a 3-0 defeat against Majees in the last round. The triumph took the Muscat-based team tally to six points and top of the league standings while northern Batinah team struggling at the bottom without any points. Al Seeb, coached by national experienced coach Jamal al Maamari, are moving in the right direction to defend their title.

Al Bashayer earned a 3-0 win over Bahla in the second round at Nizwa Sports Complex. The victory meant the northern Batinah team captured their sixth point after their opening win against Oman Club 3-1 in the last week. On the other hand, Bahla are positioned in the bottom without any points.


Al Salam were the third team who managed to earn their full points from two games as they stunned Majees 3-1 in a thrilling game at Sohar Sports Complex. The triumph meant, the northern Batinah team reached six points while Majees remained in their previous credit of three points collected during the opening match against Saham 3-0.

Oman Club registered their first win as they edged Sohar 3-1 during the second round match of the league. The Muscat-based team had suffered a loss against Al Bashayer in the previous game while Sohar received their second defeat as the first loss was against Al Salam 3-1 in last week.


On the other hand, the Oman Volleyball Association (OVA) will receive a delegation from West Asian Volleyball Federation who will visit the Sohar Sports Complex during November 14 to 16 as part of Oman’s preparation to host the West Asian Volleyball Championship for clubs in February 2024.
