Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH) has said that the approval of sick leave certificates issued by private clinics and hospitals can be done online via MOH portal.
Citizens and residents can approve sick leaves issued by private medical sector institutions in the Sultanate of Oman through the MOH portal.

The Directorate General of Private Health Institutions will not receive any hard copy of sick leaves for approval.
Patients who were given sick leave from private health institutions, and these certificates need to be approved by the Ministry of Health to be submitted to other authorities.
Approval of the two-day sick leave can be accessed directly from the health portal and if the sick leave is for more than two days, the sick leave certification fee of RO2 must be paid and the form can be printed from the private health institution after payment.
If the patient wishes to pay later, the patient will receive a text message containing a link to complete the approval fee payment procedures.
Issuing a sick leave certificate:
The certificate will be issued after verifying the patient’s ID details through the portal.
The signature of the doctor or health institution is not required, and the validity of the sick leave can be verified by QR code.
